The Cowansville Medical Center was established in 1954. First built on rue du Sud, the clinic remained there for 55 years. In 2004, the medical center became the Lac-Brome / Cowansville GMF (Group of Family Doctors). Following the merger, it became possible to offer a total of 68 hours of appointments weekly. The team consists of general practitioners, nurses and specialized physicians, all supported by an administrative team. The Lac-Brome location is a sister clinic. In 2009, major changes were needed to accommodate more doctors to ensure the quality of our services. The Lac-Brome / Cowansville GMF then moved to Rivière Street, in a building that was better suited for the increasing demand. Psychosocial workers and pharmacists gradually joined the team of professionals. The Cowansville Medical Center is currently one of the largest clinics in the region, both in terms of the number of patients and the number of doctors.
